Since completing his PhD in 1989, Arthur started his professional life as a vision scientist performing research work on the instinctive eye lens. Arthur has written numerous papers and given many speeches on the lens and the effects of diabetes on cataract formation, in the community and to other allied health professionals. While active at the National Vision Research Institute (Melbourne) he developed an interest in the clinical aspects of vision and completed an Optometric degree at the University of Melbourne in 1996. Since 199 he has been an integral piece of the team at Kosmac Clemens Optometrists. His areas of interest include vascular diseases in the eye, behavioral Optometry and children Vision assessments. He has also completed a graduate certificate in business administration. Outside of work he spends much of his time with his children and when time permits he enjoys transient table tennis.
